It’s not quite time to go shopping for crayons and scissors, but registration for the upcoming school year has begun for preschool and kindergarten students.

Before school dismisses for summer, it helps educators to know how many preschoolers and kindergartners are planning to attend in the fall as they determine how many classrooms, instructors and supplies are needed for those age groups.

Here’s information about signups for Wayne County’s five public school districts. Although many local school districts are closed this week for spring break, messages can be emailed or left on voicemail.

Students should be 5 years old before Aug. 1 to enroll in kindergarten.

Information about additional local preschool/childcare programs can be found at in.gov/fssa/carefinder.
