Winford Bill Petitt, age 87, passed away on Sunday February 26, 2023 at Forest Park Health Campus. He was born in Salt Lick, Kentucky on January 20, 1936 to Mitchell and Nellie Petitt. Winford served in the United States Army during the end of the Korean War. He was a member of the Post 315 American Legion and owner of Economy Plumbers in Richmond. Winford loved dogs and cats and enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels outside his room. He also enjoyed watching TV and talking with friends and family. Winford loved chocolate ice cream, in fact, he would only eat ice cream for a long time. He was a quiet and private man who would smile the moment his daughter walked into his room at Forest Park. He loved his many caregivers and was very grateful for their care, some favorites were Sylvia and Rita. He loved to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by many, including his roommate whom he became good friends with, Daniel Fienning.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Rhonda (Brad) Parker; siblings Harold Petitt and Genevieve Wyatt; grandchildren Shay Petitt, Brian Petitt, Cassie Lindley, Whitney Petitt, Christopher Petitt, Stephanie Gomez, Jason Parker and Jessica Parker; along with 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and children Michael Petitt, Billy Petitt and Debbie Petitt.
Services for Winford will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday March 2, 2023 with a visitation from 11:00 am – 1:00 p.m. at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Tyler Luck will officiate. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
