Wayne Keith Gettinger, 72, of Hagerstown, passed away on the morning of Thursday, February 15, 2023 at Golden Rule in Richmond.
He was born on October 31, 1950 in Connersville, a son of the late Donald and Phyllis Gettinger.
Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army as a crew chief on a huey helicopter during the Vietnam War. Wayne retired from Dana Corporation. He was a man of many talents. His love for life was present in everything he did from coaching little league, painting ceramics and carving wood into beautiful master pieces. Wayne lived each day to its fullest and knew no stranger.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet (Lakes) Gettinger; three children: Brian (Sally) Gettinger, Misty Tutterow and Mary Gettinger. He enjoyed his 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Wayne also leaves 5 brothers which he loved dearly.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Phyllis. His sister Donna Jean and a great granddaughter Finnleigh Blake Gabbard.
Friends may call from 6:00pm – 8:00pm Tuesday February 21, 2023 at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Culberson Funeral Home and will be laid to rest at Locust Grove Cemetery.
