Wanda Jean McKinney, age 80, went home to be with our Lord and Savior and to meet her loved ones on March 1, 2023. She was born September 29, 1942, the only child of Olzie and Odie Garner, in Chicago, Illinois.
Wanda was a very classy lady who loved to shop and spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing in Florida, drag racing and classic car shows. She was a member of Ravina Park Baptist Church. Wanda was loved by everyone especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son and his wife: Michael and Joyce McKinney; her daughter and her husband: Debbie and Gary Barnett; grandchildren: Marty (Jessica) McKinney and Tony (Meredith) Barnett; five great grandchildren: Kade, Lorna, Ilan, Nate and August; her church family and many friends including her close friends: Carol “Sis” Ray and Marsha Raymond. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Roy McKinney (2009); and a special friend: Bill James (2021).
Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 12 Noon, with Pastor Jimmy Slaven officiating. Family and friends may visit the funeral home Monday two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Centerville, Indiana.
