Vivian D. Brummett, 92, of New Castle, took her journey to heaven on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from her home.

She was born on October 4, 1930 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Ray C. and Velma (Cole) Williams.

Vivian married Orville Kenneth “Kenny” Brummett on August 22, 1953. She retired from New Castle Middle School Cafeteria where she served as manager for 40 years. Vivian enjoyed Bible study, reading, crocheting, playing dominoes and working puzzles. She was a faithful member of Chicago Corner Church since 2013 and loved going to services, Bible study, dinners and activates. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kennetha Brummett Guffey and a son, Charles Edward “Eddie” (Gloria) Pleasant; grandchildren, David Brummett, Richie (Lori) Guffey, Joey (Amanda) Guffey, Jeff (April) Brummett, Owen (Casi) Brummett all of New Castle, Charles Pleasant of Fortville, Brian (Lisa) Pleasant of Westfield and Amanda Brummett-Carroll of New Castle; great-grandchildren, Shelby (Kyler Purdin) Guffey, Elizabeth Guffey, Dalton (Elizabeth) Guffey, Isaac Guffey, Savannah Brummett, Madison Brummett, Carla (Ulises Camacho) Carroll, Connor Carroll, Brice Pleasant, Isaac Pleasant, Geneva Pleasant, Alivia Pleasant and Jack Pleasant; great-great-grandchildren, David Carroll, Catalina Camacho, Ila Guffey; siblings, Judy Cummings of New Castle, Millicent Abel of Corydon and Andrew Williams of Augusta, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Margaret (Joe) Schaad, Jerry Brummett, Mary (Herb) Stage, Kaye Williams Lindsey and Doris Dennis; several nieces, nephews and special friends, Della Mae Pierce, Janice Brown and Glenda Mullins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Brummett; a daughter, Vicki Lynn Pleasant; a son, Jeffrey Kim Brummett; a brother, Daniel Williams; sisters, Phyllis Kay Williams and Anita Cashdollar; sisters-in-law, Venita Berry and Dean Schrolucke; brothers-in-law, Malcolm Abel, Jim Cashdollar, Norman Cummings, Coy Brummett, Roy Brummett, Paul Brummett, Jim Brummett, Harold Brummett, Harry Brummett and several nieces, nephews cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 6, 2023 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
