Tamara “Tami” Foster, 65, of New Castle, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenfield following a brief illness.
She was born on February 14, 1958, in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of Otis R. “Ott” and Mary Kay (Anderson) Denney.
Tami was a 1976 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Ball State University. She married the love of her life, Larry Foster, on November 28, 1982. Tami loved nature and watching animals. She especially loved music and listening to local bands play on Saturday nights. She loved cook outs and bonfires and being with her family. For many years, Tami worked at the State Hospital and Raintree Programs, she also worked for the Clerk’s office, Cardinal Services, Stonebrooke Rehabilitation, and most recently, Smith’s Jeweler’s.
Those left to cherish Tami’s memory include her loving husband of 40 years, Larry Foster; her daughter and best friend, April Foster (Heather Link) of New Castle and their five children, Megan (Ryan) Cornett and their children, Elizabeth and Reid “Little Dude”, Nathanial Link, Corissa Link (Logan Whitaker), Jeremiah Link, and Damon Prince; her mother, Mary Kay Denney (Razor) of New Castle; two sisters, Beth (Tim) Moore of Greenfield and Michelle Denney of New Castle; two nieces, Tori (Jeremiah) Lane and Taylor (Coy) Hanson; several cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, and close, life-long friends, Andrea “Futley” Brangan and Kathy Denney along with many more friends.
Tami was preceded in death by her father, Otis R. “Ott” Denney; her step-father, Kermit Razor, and her grandparents, Betty and Don Wilson and Iva and John Denney.
A public visitation will be held from 5 – 8 pm Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Sproles Family Funeral Home. Tami would want everyone to dress casually and comfortably.
Per Tami’s wishes funeral services will be held privately with a public Celebration of Life Service held at a later date.
