Sylvester “Buster” Wearren, Jr., was born on September 24, 1949, in Lancaster, KY, to the late Sylvester and Evangeline Wearren.  He moved to Muncie at the age of 14 with his family.  He attended Muncie Community Schools and worked at Broderick’s Foundry for 26 years.  He briefly worked for Meek’s Mortuary and spent the last 20 years as a crossing guard.

Buster was an avid sports fan and his favorite basketball team was the Kentucky Wildcats.  He adored his family and spent much of his time being “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren.

Buster is survived by his wife of 52 years, Oreather Darlene Wearren and his three daughters: Coranada (Andre`) Tyree, Dawneen Wearren Peterson and Summer Wearren, all of Muncie; his two brothers: Ronald (Glenda) Wearren, Columbus, OH and Pastor Barry (Linda) Bowman, Danville, KY; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.  He had special cousins, Elmer Wearren, Jr. and Gary Norwood as well as special friends: Thomas Carey, Ernest Young, Leonard Gross, Tony Webb, Jerry Thompson, Alvenus Horshaw, and Ricky Edwards.

Buster is preceded in death by his parents, his sister: Constance (Andre`) Scott; his granddaughter: Oreather Wearren; and two special uncles: Clayton Wearren and “Woody” Norwood.

The family wants to acknowledge and thank his caregivers as well as all of the friends and family who have supported them in this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1210 South Hackley, Muncie, IN, 47302, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM.  Family and friends may call Saturday at the church two hours prior to the service.  Community Family Funeral Home, Richmond, Indiana, has been entrusted with arrangements.  Send online condolences to the family via the guestbook at www.communityfamilyfh.com
