Shirley Ann Pyle, age 88, of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, February 6, 2023, at Reid Health, surrounded by her loving family. Born December 16, 1934 in Richmond, Indiana, to Lawrence Samuel and Marguerite Linderman Thompson, she was a lifelong resident of this community.
Shirley was a graduate of Richmond High School and was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Wayne County Genealogical Society of Richmond, Indiana, and also a member of the Senior Center. Shirley enjoyed gardening and flower arranging. She was known as the “Halloween cookie lady” of Fair Acres.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane Ann Pyle Williamson, of Richmond, Indiana; sons, Mike (Jane) Pyle, and Tom (Cindy) Pyle, both of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Brandon Pyle, Sam Williamson, Tom Pyle Jr., James Pyle, Tina Maple, Jenny Strait and Charles Williamson; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a very special friend, Jan Vogelsong; as well as many friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles James Pyle; parents; and son in law, Neal Williamson.
Visitation for Shirley Ann Pyle will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor John Place officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery.
