Shirley A. Slinker, age 87, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Reid Health.
Born January 10, 1936, in Indiana, to Harry and Alma Dirk Collins, Shirley was a resident of this community for 60 years. She was a cashier at the Drive In Fruit Market for over 30 years, and worked several years at The County Market. Shirley was also an AVON representative. She enjoyed Bingo, reading books and doing jig saw puzzles. Shirley was a member of the Abington Christian Church. She was a caring and loving mother to 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Shirley loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Larry Slinker; son, David (Christina) Slinker; daughter, Sheila (Allen) Sanders; son, Rick (Patty) Slinker; daughter, Sherry (Randy) Dillon, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grand children with one on the way; bingo buddy niece, Debbie Dargie; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth Slinker, whom she married on July 14, 1951; parents; son, Steven Slinker; 1 great grandchild; 6 sisters; and 6 brothers.
Visitation for Shirley A. Slinker will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
