Robert McCormac, 79, died on January 14, 2023, at Friends Fellowship Community, having lived an exceptionally fortunate life. Bob was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1943 to his American parents, Robert and Grace McCormac. His family lived in Argentina until Bob’s early teens, when they returned to the Chicago area.

After graduating from college, Bob’s career in Chicago encompassed virtually all areas of computer software development and management. It was at the office that Bob met his soulmate, Sharon. When they moved to Florida in 1989, Bob began a new career handling administrative functions for the large fleet of vehicles of the Orlando Utilities Commission. Since retiring in 2003, they have enjoyed living in Richmond, Indiana with frequent getaways to places near and far.

Throughout his life, Bob had a love for travel; seeing a large portion of the world. In retirement, he and Sharon went on many adventures, and Bob began memorializing their travels through his photography.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Grace McCormac, and his sister, Anita. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, and many members of her family.

To quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “It does not matter how long you live, but how well you do it.” Bob did it very, very well.

Bob was grateful for the compassionate, considerate care he received in his final days from Dr. Andrew Deitsch, the Community Health Network and Friends Fellowship Community.
