Robert Gene Burdette, 92, of Richmond, passed away on February 15, 2023, at Ambassador Healthcare. He was born May 18, 1930, in Dayton, Ohio, and lived here most of his life.
Bob served in the Army and as a reserve police officer; he was a member of the American Legion post 333.
He worked for the railroad and owned United Service Heating and Air; he retired from Ball State University where he worked in maintenance.
Bob is survived by his daughter Priscilla (Chuck) Jones of Centerville, one son Robert Ray Burdette of Woodward, OK., seven grandchildren Jason, Derek, Cindy, Jeremy, Cody, Candace, and Mike, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters in laws Ruthann Burdette, Geneva Burdette, several nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Elbert Burdette, his mother Miram Philhour Terhaar, his wife Jean Bass Burdette, three brothers Jimmy, Elbert “Bud”, and Johnny Burdette; one great-grandchild.
Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2023, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Spicer officiating; burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
