Rita Joan Buckler, 71, formerly of Connersville, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at The Gathering Together, a hospice facility, in Plainfield, Indiana.
She was born January 14, 1951 in Batesville, Indiana to Jerome A. and Helen M. Schrank Buckler and was a 1969 graduate of Connersville High School.
For 35 years, Rita worked as a support employee for the FBI in Indianapolis.
Early in life, she was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and most recently attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
She loved God, family, and her favorite pastime, gardening.
Survivors include a brother, David (Cindy) Buckler of Connersville; three sisters, Diane (Bob) Harmeyer of Connersville, Agnes Baca of St. Louis, Missouri, and Pauline (Tuck) Fuller of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a sister-in-law, Karolyn Buckler of Connersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jim Buckler; and her companion of twenty years, Larry York, who passed away October 31, 2019.
Recitation of the Rosary will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. with visitation to follow until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dustin Boehm at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
