Rev. David Lloyd Humble, 90, a resident of New Castle joined his heavenly family in glory on Monday, February 13, 2023. He was born November 4, 1932 in Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan, Canada to the late James William and Grace Dorothea Aileen (Fleming) Humble.

An ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, he served in Evangelism from 1955-1957 and Pastoral Ministry from 1966-1998. He served in Seymour, New Albany, Oklahoma City, OK and Des Moines, IA. Among offices held, he was District NYPS (NYI) President for six years, served on the General NYPS Council for four years, District Advisory Boards (two districts) for twelve years and was District Secretary for nine years.

Dave was currently a member of First Church of the Nazarene where he had been active with the JOY Club and Men’s Ministry. A sign painter by trade, he owned Humble Signs. He married Mary Edith (Flynn) Humble on December 26, 1953 and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2020 after 66 years of marriage.

Survivors include a daughter: Rebecca June (David) Warren of Richmond; two grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth Warren of Marion and Phillip Andrew (Sarah Corin) Warren of Cedar Lake; great-granddaughter: Rowan Elise; two sisters: Ruth Evelyn Friede and Carole Louise Chaplin; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers: John Wesley, Charles Gordon, Walter Ivan and Arthur George Humble.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 17, 2023 the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle with Rev. David Warren officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
