Molly Rebecca (Grider) Stockton Denney, 91, of New Castle, passed away on the evening of Monday, January 16, 2023 at Glen Oaks Health Campus.
She was born on February 13, 1931 in Clinton County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Oliver Gordon and Golcie Mae (Conner) Grider.
Molly was a 1949 graduate of New Castle High School. She was a hair stylist and worked out of her home. Molly enjoyed volunteering for many years at the New Castle-Henry County Public Library and also assisting people with limited vision. She was a long-time member of Easter Star and Trinity United Methodist Church and was a founding member of Friend of Veterans at Grand Avenue Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish Molly’s memory include two sons, Larry Stockton of Knightstown and Allen (Jean) Denney of Estes Park, Colorado; five grandchildren, Matthew Bryant (Kira) Stockton of Westfield, Renee Nicole (David) Shelton of Marshall, NC, Morgan Denney of Miami, FL, Regan Denney of Greely, CO, and Bethen Denney of Denver, CO; four great-grandsons, Bryer Paul Shelton, Harris Bryant Stockton, Emmitt Allen Stockton, and Calvin Paul Stockton, a brother, Dr. Joseph (Greta) Grider of New Castle, and nieces and nephews, Lisa Passarelli, Chris Grider, Kelly Rees all of Indianapolis and Dr. Joseph Ryan Grider of Miami, FL.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bryant Edward Stockton, and her second husband, Hershel Neat Denny.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, January 20, 2023 at Sproles Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
