Leah Noelle Akers, 57, of New Castle passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her residence. She was born May 1, 1965 in New Castle to the late John and Eolah (Stone) Akers.
Leah was a 1983 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She was a strong Christian and active member at the Little Red Church in Dublin. She was a wonderful artist and loved teaching her painting skills to her grandchildren, Brooke and Lucas. Leah was a wonderful mom and grandma and loved being with her family. She also had a strong love for animals and enjoyed her dogs, Molly, Rosa and Velma.
She is survived by her daughter, Samantha “Sam” Overton; grandkids, Brooke and Lucas Overton and their father, Ronnie Overton; siblings, John Michael (Brenda) Akers, Kathie Akers, Lisa (Tom) Perdue-Osgood and Kelli Akers and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Diana Akers and Melanie Boyer.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Greg Hall officiating. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the time of the service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leah Noelle Akers Memorial Fund c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S.
