JC Pryor, 92, of Richmond, died Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Reid Health surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 30. 1930 in Stonewall, Oklahoma to Clinton Alex and Maggie Mary Copeland Pryor and came to Richmond from Cookeville, Tennessee 71 years ago. He retired from Johns-Manville after working 40 years and from the Palladium-Item after working 13 years. He was an avid bowler and camper.

JC had an infectious smile; he know how to light up in any room he was in. He was always full of jokes and pranks. He was the most wonderful husband and father anyone could ask for. JC was a loyal and loving husband to Janice for 67 years. Over the years they enjoyed camping, traveling, bowling, going to the casino, and spending time with their family.

He is survived by his wife Janice Pryor, their four children Sherry Pryor of Lake Wales, Florida, Suzie (William) Marshall of Richmond, Mark (Donna) Pryor of Richmond, and Beth Lakes of Lehigh Acres, Florida, their son-in-law Ralph Shain of Hagerstown, their grandchildren Jeremy Shain, Erin (Ron) Sabados, Amy (Paul) Brehm, Jason (Kelly) Marshall, Jessica (Dustin) Box, Josh (Devin) Pryor, and Tylor Lakes, and thirteen grandchildren. Their daughter Debra Shain died in 2011.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Alvey officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
