James Kennan Breeding, age 81, of Centerville, Indiana, died Thursday, February 23, 2023, at home, surrounded by family. Born November 21, 1941, in Letcher, Kentucky, to Earl and Lonnie Amburgey Breeding, James was a resident of this community for 59 years.
He was a member of the U. S. Army. James was a spinner operator at Johns Manville retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carrie M. Castle Breeding; daughters, Sherry (Paul) Platt of Fountain City, Indiana, and Tammy Longworth of Richmond, Indiana; sisters, Josie Ackers, Brenda Fields and Earlene Hurt; and brother, Doyle Breeding; grandchildren, Ashley (Paul) Barnard, Brandon (Ivette) Longworth, Miranda (Wade) Vancamp, Gavin Platt; and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Paul Breeding.
Visitation for James Kennan Breeding will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2023, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main St., Centerville, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2023, at Mills Funeral Home with Jim Webb officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
