Geneva F. Smith, age 98, passed away on March 17, 2023, at Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond, IN. She was born on October 12, 1924, in Connersville, the daughter of the late Russell and Stella Vail Young.
Geneva graduated from Fairview High School. On June 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Everett Smith. They shared 47 years together prior to his passing in 2004. While living in Connersville, she was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a current member of the Centerville Church of the Nazarene. Geneva was employed in the Payroll Department of American Kitchens. You could find her relaxing while crocheting, working in her flower garden or bird watching. She enjoyed going shopping and traveling.
Geneva will be thought of often by her nephew, Gregg (Debra) Kinder; nieces, Barbara O’Neill and Karen Young; a sister-in-law, Maria Young; as well as her great nephews, James Kinder and Matthew Kinder. Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Harold Young and sisters, Edith Kinder and Velma Jean Young.
Friends may gather with the family at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, on Wednesday March 22, 2023, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm by Pastor Trevor Stanley. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing, IN.
