Francis D. Lamb Sr., age 76, went to be with the Lord on Sunday February 5, 2023, at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on October 15, 1946, to Thomas J. and Mary Jane Durso Lamb and had lived in this area all his life. Francis was such a likeable man who loved to joke and make others laugh. He enjoyed baseball, model railroad, slot cars, fishing and drag racing among many others. He was still an owner in a drag racing car that his son-in-law Jeremy and grandson Dakota are currently the drivers of. At Christmas he was always insistent on having a real tree, the biggest that would fit in the house. Francis owned a hobby shop and a body shop and had previously worked at National Trucks and Parts, TruckPro and Greens Fork Alignment. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Reid Hospice for the exceptional care given to Francis.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Louise Reynolds Lamb; children Jay (Sandy) Shaw, Tina (Daryl) Smith, Francis Lamb Jr., Leann (Jeremy) Parker; grandchildren Joshua Shaw (Abbi Benavides), Ashley (Ross) Murty, Katie (Justin) Lyles, Dakota Smith, Jordan Parker, Nathan Parker (Madison Niccum); great grandchildren Brewer Murty and Memphis Lyles; siblings Michael (Cheryl) Lamb, Patricia (Neil) Williams and Jackie (Donnie) Winget; sister-in-law Joanie Lamb; close family friend Laurie Hammontree; several nieces, one nephew, many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas J. Lamb and Mary Jane Durso Lamb; brother Richard E. Lamb and mother and father-in-law Robert L. Reynolds and C. Helen Reynolds.
Liturgy of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 14, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Father Sengole Gnanaraj will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in Lutherania Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday February 13, 2023, at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary.
