Dortha Marie Meredith, age 86, of Richmond, Indiana, passed peacefully Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Friends Fellowship Community surrounded by family.

Born February 2, 1937, in Robinson, Illinois, to Stacy E. and Ethel A. Wesner, Dortha was a resident of the Richmond community for many years. She was Pastor at Williamsburg Friends Meeting and Associate Director of Peace and Global Studies for Earlham College. She received a Master’s in Divinity from The Earlham School of Religion. She was very involved in the Quaker community. Dortha was co-author of the book, “Hidden in Plain Sight” and helped develop a Sunday School curriculum. Her greatest love was her family. Dortha enjoyed music and was a long time choir member.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Meredith, to whom she was married on January 29, 1964; sons, Ron (Lisa) Meredith of Carmel, Indiana, and David (Anke Starke) Meredith of Sharon, Vermont; grandchildren, Abby Meredith, Chloe Meredith, Kaylee Starke-Meredith, and Maya Starke-Meredith; sisters, Mildred Adams of Carmel, Indiana, and Muriel Edgerton, of Pennsylvania; and brother, Ron Wesner, of Portland, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Don Wesner.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
