David E. Marling, age 91 of Eaton, Ohio died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond, Indiana.
Born on June 9, 1931, in Jennings County, Indiana the son of the late William H. & Ota M. (Bolton) Marling. He attended Paris Crossing High School in Paris Crossing, Indiana, U.S. Marines Corps Korean War Veteran and attended Agricultural School. He was a Jackson Township, Preble County, Ohio and Union County, Indiana farmer for many years, member of First Baptist Church of Richmond, IN.
Preceded in death by grandchildren: Matthew Griffin in 1989, Nathan Marling in 2020; Katie Griffin in 1996; brothers: John W. Marling, Ray B. Marling, and Max E. Marling; sisters: Elsie Luedeman, Marilyn Galliher and Marjorie J. Morin. Survived by wife of 69 years: Phyllis Anne (Lilly) Marling; Children: Scott & Lisa Marling of Eaton, OH, Will & Cheryl Marling of Alexandria, VA; George & Brandi Marling of Calera, AL and Carla & Joe Griffin of Richmond, IN.; sisters: and Nancy G. (Ray) Fisk. 13 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, several Nieces, and Nephews.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Barnes Funeral Home – 220 East Main Street – Eaton, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 A.M Monday, March 20, 2023, at the funeral home with Damon Marling and Will Marling officiating.
