Danie Darryl Dishman, age 78, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, March 5, 2023 at his home.
Born July 23, 1944, in Straughn, Indiana, to Ernest Claude and Mary Belle Beatrice Miller Dishman, Danie was a resident of Henry County and of this community for the past 2 years. He was a high school graduate from DeSoto High School and worked at Alleghany Ludlum Steel, retiring as a steel operator, and was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 8535, where he served as President for 28 years. Danie was a member of the U. S. Army from 1962-1966 with the 41st Airborne 2nd Battalion training brigade, specialist 4th Class, Parachute rigger. He also enjoyed being active and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Diane Pittenger Dishman of 57 years, to whom he was married Feb. 14, 1966; daughter, Diana Dawn (James) Brown of Richmond, Indiana; son, Daniel D. (Judy) Dishman, of Lisbon, Ohio; grandchild, Gage William VanScyoc of Richmond, Indiana; sisters, Pat Robinson, of Hagerstown, Indiana, and Arlene Herman of North Dakota; numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by parents; son, Darren Damond Dishman; sister, Dorothy Durham; and brothers, Kenneth and Don Dishman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
