D. Bradley Wilson, 65 of Connersville passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023. He was born on September 18, 1957 in Frankfort, Germany to Bill Wilson and Nancy Funk Wilson.
At the young age of 16 Brad met his sweetheart; the love of his life, Kim Gough. They were married at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on November 23, 1976. Together they were blessed with 3 children. In the most recent years, Brad and Kim enjoyed spontaneous trips out of town and just spending time with each other.
Brad was a member of Central Christian Church, where he served on the board and attended St. Gabriel’s Church.
Brad was the 3rd generation of Wilson Lawson Myers Insurance Company, where he has spent his entire life providing insurance for our community. Brad loved and cherished his work family and working side by side with them every day.
Brad was a profound leader in our Fayette County Community. He was a part of many boards including the Chamber of Commerce, The Jaycees, Discover Connersville, where he was a big part of restoring the main street, The Workforce Development, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, he was on the Fayette County School board for 8 years, serving as the President for 4 of those years and many more. He was a guiding light in our community and was even The Citizen of the Year. Brad always gave back, even after his passing. Brad donated his corneas giving someone the gift of sight.
Even though the community was a large part of Brad’s life, his family was the most important. His love for his family was unimaginable, he was the fun grandpa that cherished his grandchildren. Brad loved boats, in his early years he had his own Marina and enjoyed being on the water. He had a love for horses, some may not know, but Brad enjoyed barrel racing and poles. He was a very diverse man, always optimistic and found the best in everyone he met. He ultimately loved people, talking with them and always looking out for the best for them. He favorite quote was to “Always look through the windshield not the rearview mirror.”
Along with his parents, Bill and Nancy Wilson; his wife of 46 years, Kim Wilson, he is survived by his children, Robbie (Jenny) Wilson, Christian (BJ) Cole and Andy (Mindy) Wilson; 8 grandchildren, Alexis (Jaylen) Wilson, Abigail (Dylan Redd) Wilson, Emma Wilson, Brice (Cameron) Cole, Drew (Kristin) Cole, Chloe Cole, Bailey Wilson and Griffin Wilson; a sister, Lisa (Dennis) Amrhein and girls; the entire Gough Family; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
