Curtis J. Griffin was born to the late Rev. LaRue Griffin and Earline (Wright) Griffin on August 19, 1955.
Curtis accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord at an early age at 1st Trinity Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Curtis graduated from Connersville High in May 1974. He was employed as a custodian during his tender at Connersville High. He was promoted to head custodian and did his job with pride. He monitored the cafeteria at lunch where students flocked to him for advice. He was a mentor to African American Students. Curtis was a co-sponsor of CHS Senior Council. He received recognition as support staff for the years 2001, 2002 and 2003. He had a goal for each student to have a free prom and they did all in three years. Curtis served on the Fayette County School Board from 2010-2013.
He leaves to cherish his memory; three brothers: Robert (Anita), Vincent (Elonia) and Quinton (India Cruse-Griffin); nieces; nephews and a host of many friends.
He is preceded in death by his father: Rev. LaRue Griffin; and a sister: Ayanna Musungu.
