Charles Matthew “Matt” Allen, 38, of Connersville, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous battle with colon cancer.
He was born September 5, 1984 in Connersville, one of three sons of Charles Patrick “Pat” and Jerena D. Howard Allen. He was a 2003 graduate of Connersville High School.
On February 29, 2008, he married Nikki Mitchell in Connersville. Mrs. Allen survives.
For many years, Matt worked at various Pizza Kings in the area and was most recently employed at Subway in Connersville until his health declined.
He was a member of Crosspointe Biker Church.
Like his father, Matt was a lover of all athletic events. He especially enjoyed coaching his daughters’ softball teams. He also loved wrestling and was very good at wrestler imitations.
A nature lover, Matt enjoyed being outdoors. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of fourteen years, Nikki Allen of Connersville; four children, Alexia Showalter, Jaylee Showalter, Samantha Allen, and Madison Allen, all of Connersville; his mother, Jerena D. Allen of Connersville; two brothers, Daniel (Breianna) Allen of Kingsport, Tennessee and Nicholas Parker (Holly) Allen of Connersville; his maternal grandfather, Richard Howard of Connersville; his mother-in-law, Judy Mitchell of Connersville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pat Allen; his maternal grandmother, Valetta Howard; and his paternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Allen.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 with Pastor Chris Lovett officiating. Cremation will follow.
