Casey Duane Shook, 45, of New Castle passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness. He was born on October 27, 1977 in Muncie, a son of Carl Duane and Debra Ann (Wyatt) Shook.
Blessed with a servants heart at a young age, Casey had a love for helping others in various ways. Such as, during his teen years he developed a love for law enforcement which led him to be employed as a correctional officer with the Henry County Sheriffs Office and the GEO Group in New Castle; he was also a member of the Cadiz Volunteer Fire Department. Casey’s most recent service to others was his love for selling vegetables; he operated a little vegetable stand located in Cadiz. He always made sure his prices were less than others and really didn’t care about making money but just wanted to be a help to others. Casey loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, especially catfish. Casey was a 1997 graduate of Shenandoah High School.
Casey is survived by his wife, Guyanna (Bedwell) Shook of New Castle; mother, Debra Ann (Wyatt) Shook of Cadiz; brother, Joshua (Lacey) Shook of Cape Coral, FL; step-children, Kathryn Wolfe and her companion, AJ Cross, Josiah Timms and his companion, Nicole Alcorn and Kyle Timms; 9 grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Casey was preceded in death by his father, Carl Duane Shook; son, Anthony Shook; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Louanne Wyatt; paternal grandparents, William and Wilma “Louise” Shook.
Services will be held at 7:00pm Friday, March 17, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Joshua Shook officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until the time of service on Friday. You may express condolences or share memories of Casey at www.hinsey-brown.com.
