Betty L. McKee, age 86, of Centerville, Indiana, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Reid Health. Born April 16, 1936, in Richmond, Indiana, to Lewis A. and Anna Beth Robinson Danels, Betty was a life-long resident of this community.
She was a 1954 graduate of Richmond High School. Betty worked as a dental assistant before and after raising her family. She was a member of Centerville Christian Church and was very involved in the Thursday Women’s Bible Study. Betty was an avid golfer and was past women’s golf chairman for both the Elks Country Club and Forest Hills Country Club. She also enjoyed woodburning, woodcarving, and oil painting. Betty was an excellent seamstress and taught sewing classes. She was a former board member at the Richmond Day Nursery. Betty loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Tom J. McKee, whom she married September 24, 1955; son, Daniel J. (Rebecca) McKee, of Centerville, Indiana; daughter, Sherry A. (Jeff) Culbertson, of Marion, Indiana; daughter, Linda (Terry) Hyndman, of Columbia City, Indiana; son, Tim (Duretta) McKee, of Richmond, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Kenneth McKee.
Visitation for Betty L. McKee will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Sewell officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
