Wilma Jean O’Conner, age 70, passed away at Arbor Trace Nursing Home on October 23, 2022. She was born March 12, 1952, the daughter of Russell and Elsie Oler, in Richmond, Indiana.
Wilma was a wonderful, kind and caring woman. She loved and supported her family in anything they did and never hesitated to help anyone in need. She loved everyone. Her children, grandchildren and great grandbabies were her world. She enjoyed visiting family and friends, attending festivals and long car rides in the fall to watch the leaves change colors. She also loved wintertime, checking out the Christmas displays.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; one daughter: Laura (James) Smith, Richmond, IN; two sons: Greg (Brandi) O’Conner, Richmond, IN, and Duane O’Conner (Nick Holland), London, England; four grandchildren: James and Crystal Smith, Richmond, IN, Corissa O’Conner, Long Beach, MS, Hailey O’Conner, Richmond, IN, and Bradyn O’Conner; two great grandchildren: Aniyah O’Conner and Grayson Smith; three sisters: Marjorie Oler, New Paris, OH, Marilynn (Richard) Elleman, New Paris, OH, and Mary (Bob) Oakes, Casstown, OH; two brothers: Keith (Bonnie) Oler and Larry (Millie) Oler; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends including a special friend/sister-in-law: Margie Jones.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: David Gene O’Conner, Sr; son: David “Doc” O’Conner, Jr; maternal grandparents: William Harvey Mann and Sarah; paternal grandparents: Ora James Oler and Ida May Griffis; two brothers: Jerry Oler and Ronald Oler; and father and mother-in-law: Clyde and Julia O’Conner.
Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 2:00 PM. Family and friends may visit Saturday at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
