Willie Mae Johnson, 106, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2022. She was born January 11, 1916, in Two Egg, Florida to Flemmie Williams and Will Collins.

Willie Mae and her husband Jessie Johnson moved back to Richmond from Two Egg, Florida, in 2004. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Florida and a lifelong member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Richmond, Indiana. She loved being outside, gardening, fishing, going to Church, playing card, watching Reds baseball, Bingo, watching her “Stories,” walking any and everywhere, eating sweet treats, plain potato chips, smoked sausage, Ensure, Pepsi and Sprite. She was feisty and never met a stranger.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son Ermon Johnson (Jean) of Minneapolis, MN; her daughter Kay Brown (Charlie) of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren Tina Miller, Felita Walker, Kevin Perkins, Stacie Perkins, Brandon Perkins, Aramis Walker, LaTeisha Sims, Rick Williams, Stephanie Williams, Tahma Frye, CJ Brown, Lori (Lolli) Ann Williams, Ernie Lewis, Emile Lewis, Ember Lewis, Erica Borst, Mark Borst, Michael Burke, Ermaine Burke and Kory Burke; sisters Theola Williams, Florida Mae McCoy and Ernestine Bowers all of Two Egg, Florida; brothers Rev. Luscious Williams, Sr., Bryant C. Williams both of Two Egg, Florida; sister-in-law Reola Williams; brother-in-law Felix Long, Sr. of Two Egg, Florida; special friends Lydia Perkins and Keisha Walker. She also leaves a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Flemmie Williams and Will Collins; spouse Jessie Johnson; daughter Betsy Perkins and grandson Michael Lewis.

The family would like to express special thanks to Tracy Lewis and staff of Community Family Funeral Home, staff at Ambassador Health Care, Marcella Ross, Madison Studebaker, Chaplin Dave, Brittney, Colleen and Cicely McDaniel.

There will be a private graveside service at Earlham Cemetery.
