Sandy L. “Lou” Ryan, age 75, of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, September 12, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born May 31, 1947, in Richmond, Indiana to Ralph and Betty Atkins Brelage, Sandy was a life-long resident of this area. She was a graduate of Williamsburg High School. Sandy was a stay-at-home mom and caregiver and had formerly worked at AVCO. She attended First United Methodist Church. Sandy loved tending to her flower garden, was an avid animal lover and enjoyed hummingbirds. She never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. Sandy was the glue that held her family together. Her last words to her family were, “Don’t be sad. I am so happy that I am going to be with Jesus.”
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Ryan; son, John (Tracy) Ryan; sisters, Karen (Jack) McCowan and Barbara (David) Rose; and brother, Tom (Linda) Brelage.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Visitation for Sandy L. “Lou” Ryan will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Chalk officiating.
