Richard Morton Ellis, 86, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Ambassador Health Care, Centerville, where he had recently resided.
He was born in Martinsville on September 21, 1936 to Robert and Ruth (Dale) Ellis, and lived most of his life in the Hagerstown area. He was a retired employee of Perfect Circle / Dana Corp. Following his retirement, he was employed by Care-Van in Richmond. He was a member of New Testament Church of Christ. Dick was a former member of Hagerstown Jaycees, a member of Gideons International and Dana Retirees.
Survivors include 3 children, Rick Ellis (Connie), Mickey Ellis and Lucy Dilling (Wally); 10 Grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a half-brother, Dean Burpo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Ellis; 4 children, Greg Ellis, Vickey Ellis, Nick Ellis and Eileen Hensley; a half-sister, Carolyn Hicks.
Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29, in West Lawn Cemetery, Hagerstown. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 PM. Pastor Paul Gearhardt will officiate. Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
