Richard “Butch” C. Wagner, 81, of Connersville, passed away Tuesday evening, December 13, 2022 at Brickyard Healthcare of Richmond where he had been a resident.
He was born September 9, 1941 in Connersville to Earl and Mae Weber Wagner and was a 1959 graduate of Connersville High School.
On June 14, 1980, he married Virginia Rae Holcomb in Milton Christian Church. Mrs. Wagner survives.
He was employed for a number of years at Alpine Amusement/Ford Vending and for a time as head of maintenance at the Holiday Inn of Connersville. He also worked for several years at D & M and most recently at Kroger in Connersville.
He was a member of Moose Lodge, and in his leisure he enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Virginia Wagner; five children, René (Greg) Porter of Connersville, Connie (Fito) Guerra of San Antonio, Texas, Aaron Wagner of Connersville, Sean (Emi) Wagner of Angola, Indiana, and Adrienne Gomez of Carmel, Indiana; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Dudley of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Jerry Gomez; and six siblings, Earl Wagner, Jr., Bill Wagner, Harold “Bud” Wagner, Virginia (Chuck) Leonard, Patricia Case, and Richard Wagner.
Upon his request, the family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
