Peggy (Allee) Frost, 88, of Greenwood, and former long-term resident of New Castle, died from chronic heart issues on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born on February 17, 1934 in Zenas, Jennings County, Indiana, Peggy was one of five children of the late Ford and Goldie (Strickland) Allee.

Peggy moved to Indianapolis in 1951 and was employed by the Arnold Corporation as a clerical worker. Peggy was wed to Killus W. Frost of Wayne County, Kentucky in 1957. She was the bookkeeper and “Girl Friday” at Frost and Frost Sawmill in New Castle, which she owned with her husband, Killus Frost, and his cousin, Rube Frost. Peggy was a devoted spouse to Killus until his death in 2004. She was an avid angler and bird hunter in her youth. Peggy enjoyed playing piano, cards, and loved her dogs as well as camping and all things outdoors. For 40 years, she enjoyed spending weekends on Lake Monroe.

Peggy was blessed with a bright and merry disposition, an outgoing personality, and was a friend to all. Peggy had an incredible memory and was uncanny for her ability to remember intricate details and names from long ago. To say Peggy enjoyed children is an understatement, she enjoyed teaching and mentoring them immensely. She also loved music and played the Autoharp in the Frost Family Band.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Killus Frost; two brothers, Gerald Allee and Jerry Allee; two sisters, Anna Lafollette and Kay Fox, and by a stepson, Danny Frost.

Those left to cherish Peggy’s memory include a son, Ted H. Frost; two step-sons, Larry W. Frost and Maj. Michael R “Mickey” Frost, Ret; a sister, Shirley Bush, as well as dozens of
family members that fondly referred to her as Aunt Peg or grandma.
