Norman L. Davis, age 84, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, September 9, 2022, at his home.

Born September 22, 1937, in New Castle, Indiana, to Cecil H. and Cleo V. Simmons Davis. Norman was a member of this community most of his life. He was a 1956 graduate of New Castle High School. Norman retired from Schrock Cabinet Company after 14 years of service as a finisher and cabinet maker. He also worked with his son doing home remodeling. Norman was a member of the Druids Lodge. He formerly served in the National Guard. Norman enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, vegetable gardening and canning, working with anything mechanical, playing cards with his friends, and playing bingo at the Druids Lodge. He had volunteered at a local food pantry with his companion, Donna and always enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelley R. (Sean) Hollingsworth of Richmond, Indiana, her children, Alyssa and Jaden; son, Todd A. Davis (Olaronke Ajayi) of Plainfield, Indiana, and his nine children; companion, Donna Dryden of Richmond; sister, Beverly Davis; sisters-in-law, Donna Sue Hole and Shirley Hole; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Velma Jean Davis, who died on November 5, 2000; parents; sisters, Kathleen Swarm, Nina McCall, Kara Davis, and Carolyn Retherford; and brothers, Carroll O. Davis, Keith Davis, and Dale Davis.

Visitation for Norman L. Davis will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Carlton Burns officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
