Millie Jean Todd, 82, of Hagerstown, Indiana, passed on peacefully to her Heavenly Father on October 27, 2022 at Heritage House in New Castle, Indiana.

Millie was born on February 15, 1940 in Richmond, Kentucky to John D. Hicks and Ebbie M. (Hall) Hicks, both of whom preceded her in death. She resided in the Hagerstown area for almost 60 years. She was a hard worker all her life, working mostly in food and restaurant management as well as caring for her family. She was a strong woman who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and she was a member of New Testament Church of Christ. Millie loved her family more than anything on earth and was a devoted wife, mother, and “granny.” She was loving, compassionate, funny, feisty, and loved music, cooking, and her many books. She battled poor health the last several years of her life both bravely and with continued love and compassion for others.

Survivors include her husband of over 64 years, Charles K. Todd; a son, Charles K. Todd, Jr. (Sandy) of Hagerstown; five (5) grandchildren, Alison King (Kyle), Clayton Carmack, Katelyn Clark (Bradley), Hannah Todd, and Mekayla Todd; three (3) great-grandchildren, Sophie King, Caden King, and Charlea Carmack; siblings Charlotte Brookshire, Carol Rummel (Richard), Nettie Smith (Melvin), Molly Grant, Dianne McIntosh; an aunt, Josie Wright, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Delores Carmack; three brothers, John D. Hicks, Jr, Randolph Scott Hicks, and Noble Hicks; and a sister, Connie Jo Hicks.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Culberson Funeral Home in Hagerstown, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022 with burial to follow in West Lawn Cemetery. Bill Stockberger will officiate. The family would like to express their sincere and deep gratitude to the caring staff members of both Heritage House in New Castle, Indiana, and Henry County Hospice for all the care, compassion, prayers and love shown to Millie.
