Mike Buckland, 75, passed away Thursday October 20, 2022.  Mike was born in Richmond, Indiana on October 14, 1947.

A lifelong farmer, Mike grew up on a dairy farm north of Cambridge City, working with his father until he took over the farm operations.  Mike graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968 and was drafted by the United States Army. He served in Korea during the Vietnam War.  As demanding and confining as operating a dairy farm is, Mike still made time to give back to his community by volunteering.  He was a longtime baseball coach and team sponsor of Buckland’s Dairy, with their trademark hats, at the Cambridge City Youth League where he also served as a board member, most recently he volunteered for the Dubin Girls Softball League, he was a longtime board member of the Dublin Community Club and supervisor at the Dublin Skate. He spent many weekends and afternoons getting the facilities and diamonds ready for the games and evenings running the concessions and cleaning up after the day’s activities. Mike was a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. His commitment to the community and the area youth will be missed.

Survivors include 3 siblings, William Buckland Jr., Bonnie Lynn Barker and Ricki Ann Buckland; 8 nieces and nephews; Sean and Brandi Dalrymple and family.  Mike was preceded in death by his father, William L. Buckland and his mother, Norma Jean (House) Burchfield.
