Michael “Mickey” J. Teague, 76, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022 with his family by his side. Mike was born on September 8, 1946, in Henry County to Mike and Drucilla Teague.
Mike grew up in New Castle and graduated from Chrysler High School in 1965. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Dickerson, in 1966. She survives him at home.
Mike had a love for cars and racing. He spent countless hours as a spectator at racetracks across the country. If it had to do with cars or racing Mike always had a story to share.
Mike loved animals, most especially his dogs Mr. T, Blue, and Callie. He was a gentle man with a twinkle in his eye who could tease the daylights out of anyone. He loved large and there wasn’t a more loyal person to be found. His sweet kind soul will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Mike is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Dickerson) Teague, daughters, Michelle Haggard of New Castle and Angela Herron of Springport, 4 grandchildren Rachel (Adam) Dawson, Shelby Haggard (Alex Abbott), Samantha Haggard (Keith Riggs) and Tegan Herron and 4 great Grandchildren Chandler Dawson, Dakoda Dawson, Camden Abbott and Knox Riggs; special brother-in-law Vernon Dickerson, sister Mara Yachik of San Antonio, TX, aunt Jane Reece of New Castle and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Mike will be missed every day. Relatives and friends are invited to extend their condolences from 11:00-1:00, Thursday November 17, 2022, at Rose City Funeral Home in New Castle. A Celebration of Life will take place at 1 pm on Thursday at the Funeral Home with burial to follow at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, the family and Mike’s dogs, Mr. T, Blue and Callie, request that you honor their love of animals and support of our military veterans by donating in his name to Indiana Canine Assistant Network and their Veterans Program.
