Maurice Verne Beavers, 90, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Glen Oaks Health Campus, where he had recently resided. He was born in Bedford, IN on October 27, 1931 to Arlie and Ruth (Fish) Beavers and had resided in the Hagerstown area since 1977.

He was a graduate of Bedford High School and served with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene. Maurice was a Hamm Radio Operator, a member of American Legion Post 333, and a member of VFW. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and formerly performed with Glory Bound Quartet. The most important thing in his life was his family.

Survivors include 4 children, Maurisa Poore (Curt), John Corwin, Michael Corwin (Patrice) and Leland Beavers; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, Rita Finney; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Paula Julian, Dwight Ingalls, David and Mary Ann Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Beavers, in 2000; a daughter, Lisa Dean, and 4 siblings, Marjorie Julian, Eugene Beavers, Betty Bugh and Glenna Beavers.

Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday, November 1, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services will follow at 1:00 PM. Rev. Robert Fannin will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to Henry County Hospice for the care and support shown, and asks that memorial contributions be directed to them.
