Marietta Ashley Mogle, 95, of New Castle passed away Monday, September 19, 2022 at her daughter’s residence. She was born November 19, 1926 in Lapaz, Indiana, a daughter of the late Earl F. and Eva (Melbert) Ashley.

A lifelong New Castle resident, she was a 1944 graduate of New Castle High School. She married Glen Mogle July 3, 1946, enjoying 60 years together before his death in 2006. She was a birthright member of First Friends Meeting in New Castle and of Keystone Sunday School class. She enjoyed her breakfast friends, meeting with them twice weekly for many years. Marietta was a life member of Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority and a member of Eastern Star Chapter #118. She retired from Myers Furniture in 1985 after 21 years, where she was the 1st female sales person. Marietta was a 20 year volunteer at the Basketball Hall of Fame, was elected volunteer of the year and mended many of the school flags. She loved reading, playing cards and traveling to nearly every state including, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Most of all, she loved hugs, spending her winters in Bradenton, Florida and the Quaker Haven Church Camp.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Doug) Kinser of Goshen, Debbie (Ralph) Holmes of New Castle and David (Bridget) Mogle of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Michelle (Greg) Wood, Beth Ann (Troy) Scott, Mandy Gibson, Missy (Mike) Burns, Pat (Sara) Byers, Jacob (fiancé Kiersten) Mogle and Maggie (Jordan) Mogle Course; two step grandchildren, Todd (Traci) Holmes and Chris (Jeremy) Rinberger; great grandchildren, Josh, Emily, Caleb, Hannah, Shelby, Sydney, Morgan, Nick, Chaney, Simon, Isaac and Zeke; three step great grandchildren, Leeann, Tyler & Sarah; great great grandchildren, Josie and Leland; brother, Jim (Barb) Ashley; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Setsuko Ashley.

In addition to her parents, Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Mogle in 2006, father and mother-in-law, Roy and Christena Mogle; three brothers, Charles, Bernard and David Ashley and a sister, Louise Ashley.

Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022 at New Castle First Friends Meeting with Patrick Byers and Rick Schoeff officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
