Kenny Upchurch, 70, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly at home on the morning of Friday, December 23, 2022.
He was born on January 21, 1952 in New Castle, Indiana, the son of Bill and Phyllis (Michaels) Upchurch.
Kenny was a 1970 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. He married the love of his life, Glenda Patton, on August 29, 1981. Kenny worked at Kroger for many years and retired from IPT/Keihin in Greenfield. He and Glenda attended New Castle First Church of the Nazarene. Kenny enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, Phyllis Upchurch, of New Castle, those left to cherish Kenny’s memory include his wife of 41 years, Glenda F. (Patton) Upchurch; two sons, Brandon R. (Andrea) Upchurch of Anderson and Brock A. (Desiree) Upchurch of New Castle; five grandchildren, Christopher, Warren, Memphis, Charlotte, and Korbin Upchurch; a sister, Peggie Stone of New Castle, and nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Bill Upchurch, and by a brother-in-law, Donald Stone.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Goddard officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
