Kathy June Westover, age 66, of Centerville, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2022. She was born in Batesville, Indiana, to loving parents John F. and Orabel Roberts also of Centerville, Indiana.
Kathy was married to the love of her life in 1974, and enjoyed 48 years with her husband, Richard Lee Westover.
Together they had two sons: David Michael Westover, born in 1977 and Jared Lee Westover, born in 1980, (wife, Amanda); six grandchildren; David’s children: Austin, Autumn and Kaylee; Jared’s children: Noah, Henry and Liam. Kathy’s love for her family was evident but didn’t stop with her children and grandchildren. She was blessed to have many nieces, nephews and cousins who were greatly loved and extended their love and kindness during her battle with breast cancer. She also leaves behind siblings: Bonita Sue Gabbard and her husband, Phil, of Brookville, Indiana, and Mike Roberts and his wife Melanie, of Liberty, Indiana.
Her friends, too many to name, stood by her and was there to offer support and extended acts of kindness. Kathy ended her career as a nurse at Fayette Regional Hospital in Connersville, Indiana, in 2018.
Kathy was a member of Word of Truth Baptist Church, Pastor Brian Hamilton, where when able she played piano for the congregation. Kathy’s love for her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, not only emerged from her verbal witnessing to people she met along life’s paths, but also from her writings she called, “My Journey, Learning How To Not Be.” She was not afraid to let you know the journey on earth means nothing if your life has not touched souls and pointed them to Calvary.
At Kathy’s request, burial will be private at Abington Cemetery. She will be laid to rest alongside her son, David who preceded her in death in 2017, and her parents: John and Orabel Roberts.
If you knew Kathy, you were either family or a friend.
The family will host a Celebration of Eternity, in her honor and memory, for family and friends at the John H. Miller Community Center Building, 2900 Park Road, Connersville, Indiana, on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, with her nephew Doug Rogers and his wife Jana and Pastor Brian Hamilton officiating.
