Jon loved spending time with his two grandsons, fishing, and working in the yard, especially mowing; It was his thing. He also had a special place in his heart for his canine friend, Mya. Jon had previously attended New Covenant Worship Center in New Castle and was saved on October 25, 2009.

Jon is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ruthann Powless of New Castle; daughter, Autumn (Kevin) Phair of Anderson and his two grandsons, who to them was “Pop Pop”, Gordon and Elliott Phair; brother, Rick (Loretta) Powless of Anderson; sister, Diana Hanshew of Anderson; aunt, Cathy (Donnie) Alley of New Castle; brother-in-law, David (Teresa) Gross of Gilbert, AZ; several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous special friends, too many to mention.

In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by a brother, Mick Powless; sister, Georgia Matheney; infant brother, Jerry Lee; a very special uncle, David Hufford and a very special aunt, Joy Hufford.
