Joan (Blevins) Stigall, age 77, resident of New Castle, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022, at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 28, 1945, in Parnell, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Jess & Ruth (Coffee) Blevins.
Joan married the love of her life, Charles Stigall onJuly 4, 1962 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage until his passing earlier this year. She worked for Hunington Sewing Factory and later worked for 26 plus years at Draper Shade before retiring. The title she cherished most was mom and mamaw. She so enjoyed her time with her family, whom she loved with all she had.
Joan is survived by a son, Cliff (Carri) Stigall; a daughter, Tammy (Keith) Troxell; four grandchildren, Alisha “Eshe” (Brandon) Richey, Chase (Rachael) Stigall, Skylar (Trent) Pierce, Aubrey (David) Kirby; five great-grandchildren, Gavin and Raylee Richey, Lenna, Crew, and Kellan Stigall; five sisters, Betty (Jay) Campbell, Fay Blevins, Carol (Floyd) Blevins, Gail Morgan & Genny Blevins; brother, Hank Blevins as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles and brother Arlie Blevins.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Rose City Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., New Castle with burial following at Batson Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the funeral home.
