Jimmie Dean Covey, 76, of New Castle passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born August 3, 1946 in Albany, Kentucky, a son of the late Willie Leo and Lela (Duvall) Covey.
He retired from Visteon in 2002 after 40 years of service. Jimmie loved driving his Dodge Charger, fishing, racing and college basketball. He was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in New Castle. Above all, he loved his family more than anything.
Survivors include two children, Laura (Jimmy) Burchett and Angela (Travis) Jones; grandchildren, Christopher Burchett, Matthew (Elizabeth) Burchett, Sarah Jones and Ashton Jones; great grandchildren, Krysta, Micah, Haley, Jeremiah, Wesley, Josiah and Silas; and a special brother-in-law, Glen Daffron.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Lee (Daffron) Covey; sisters, Maxadean Covey Smith, his twin, and Joyce Covey Molene.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Larry Neal, Gary McCutchen and Travis Jones. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. You may express c
