Jed H. Johnson, 84, of Fountain City, passed away at home on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Jed was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 8, 1937 to Ralph C. & Velma Clarice Boone Johnson.
He was a 1956 graduate of Alquina High School. Jed formerly worked at J&L Steel and Hayes Track. He worked in construction and farmed for most of his life. He enjoyed gardening and watching his grandchildren playing sports and participate in many other activities. He was a faithful member of the Fountain City Church of Christ.
Jed will be missed by his wife of 48 years, Deborah L. Frame Johnson, whom he married on April 12, 1974; daughters, Deborah Vanderpool & husband, Paul and Nikki Melton & husband, Jason; son, Craig Johnson & wife, Stacey; grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Jason, Caleb, Josh, Noah, Emma, Rylee, Taylor, Gavin and Lila; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Abby, Kohen, Alex and Aaron; nieces, nephews and his special friend, Bill Taylor. Jed was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Loretta Taylor and brothers Herschel, Bill and Lewis Johnson.
A memorial visitation for Jed will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, October 4, at Lifespring Church, 5600 US 27 North.
