Janelle Ann Steele, 84, of New Paris, Ohio, died Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. Born on September 6, 1938 in Garrett, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jess W. & Violet (Young) Conley.
Janelle had worked at Wesler Orchards from 1977 to 1995. Her greatest passion was making handmade crafts. In previous years, she could be seen at many local festivals in the area including the Preble County Pork Festival for over 30 years. Most recently her crafts were on display at the Old Mill Christmas Crafts in Richmond. A member of the Christ United Church in Richmond where she loved the luncheons with the church ladies.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a Brother: Larry Jack Conley in 2001 and Sister: S. Doris Conley in 2009.
Survived by her Husband of 65 years: Lowell “Toad” Steele, Children: Scott Steele, Lori Steele and Todd (Tracie) Steele; Grandchildren: Justin (Ashley) Thomas, Trevor (Tia) Thomas, Stephanie Townsend, Abby (Riley) Petty and Natalie Steele; 9 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Brett Karanovich officiating. Interment in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
