James Scott Gibson, 58, of Connersville, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at I.U. Health – University Hospital where he had been a patient for one day. He had been in failing health, but his death was unexpected.
He was born September 19, 1964 in Connersville, one of two children of James Lewis and Rena Jean Wynn Gibson.
A Connersville High School graduate, Scott was a member of the 1983 Basketball State Championship team. For several years, he resided in Huntsville, Alabama and returned to Connersville in 2020.
A sports enthusiast, Scott loved music and cherished spending time with family and friends.
Scott is survived by his only living family member, a sister, Sharisse Evonne Gibson of Huntsville, Alabama. He leaves behind to cherish a host of family that he truly loved and also many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and paternal and maternal aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, October 29, 2022 in Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home where friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022 and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Pastor Richard Ware and Pastor Dennis Perkins will officiate. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
