James Michael “Mike” Roth, Sr., 76, of Fountain City, passed away at home on December 7.
Mike was born in Richmond, Indiana on January 31, 1946, the son of Herman B. & Jenevieve Ramsey Roth.
Mike enjoyed a career as a Journeyman Electrician. To say Mike -or “Triker” as he was known to his riding family- enjoyed riding motorcycles was an understatement. When he wasn’t leading the pack on a benefit ride for someone in need, supporting Toys for Tots or helping escort a fallen veteran home, he could be seen out scouting a suitable route for the next benefit ride on his schedule. Mike was a member of Sons of American Legion Post 65 in Richmond, where he was a fixture of the Legion Riders. He was also a dedicated member of the Patriot Guard Riders and the Whitewater Valley Motorcycle Club.
Mike will be missed by his daughter, Angela Anderson & husband, Jim; son, Mike Roth, Jr. & wife, Amy; the mother of his children, Marsha Hayden; grandchildren, Jacob Roth and Hailey Anderson; brother, David Roth; and special friend, KayLynn Marcum.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joan Roth and sister-in-law, Rhonda Roth.
Mike’s wish was to be cremated without any service of fanfare, followed by burial next to Joan in Hollansburg Cemetery.
Mike specified that any memorial contributions given in his memory be sent to Indiana Patriot Guard Riders, 3310 East 350 North, Bluffton, IN 46714 or American Legion Riders, c/o American Legion Post 65, 109 North 6th Street, Richmond, IN 47374, Attn: Mike Jacob.
Deuces to you, Triker. We’ll keep the rubber side down….
