HAGERSTOWN: Jack Lee Klemann, 87, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully at Brookdale Assisted Living, Richmond, on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
He was born in Richmond, on October 5, 1934, to Joseph B. and Evelyn D. (Atkinson) Klemann of Webster. Jack was a 1952 graduate of Webster High School, where he played baseball and basketball, including the All-Sectional Team of 1951.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959, stationed in Germany. After serving his country, Jack retired from ALCOA after 30 years in 1989 as shift supervisor in buyer/inventory control.
He enjoyed all sports, hunting and fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan. Jack attended Sugar Grove Community Church.
Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janice Marlene (Bicknell) Klemann; son Joe (Melissa) Klemann, Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Ariel (Riley) Albers of Tucson, Arizona; Zachary (Arianna) Klemann of Richmond; and, two great-grandchildren, Maverick and Dexter Albers. He also leaves behind his best friend, Snowball the Cat.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 12:30 PM, Friday, September 23, 2022, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services will follow at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Adam Rinehart officiating. Entombment will be in Earlham Cemetery Mausoleum, Richmond.
