Dean Byers, 61, passed away Thursday morning September 1, 2022, at his home in New Castle, Indiana. Dean was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 15, 1960, and moved with his family to New Castle when he was four years old. He attended New Castle High School. Dean was a railroad man and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after thirty-nine years of service. Dean was proud of his family, he worked hard to provide a good home with opportunity for his children’s education.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, the former, Amanda Sue Roberts. Dean and Amanda were married in New Castle on April 29th, 1995; three children, Nick, Alison, and Abby Byers; his mother, Dorothy Jane (Caldwell) Byers; one sister, Dana Denecke; brother, Dale (Julie) Byers; mother-in-law, Linda Ferguson; brother-in-law, J. W. Roberts; sister-in-law, Tami Byers; several nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by his father, Kay Holmes Byers (July 7th, 2010); brother, Dennis Byers (September 11th, 2021).
